For this assignment, you will be performing your favorite children's book to your audience. You may choose a book from your personal library or from the school library.

You should:

*Choose a book that has a good story. Make sure that it has an assortment of engaging characters and creative language. Make sure it is not too short or too long.

*Introduce your book. Show off the cover, and encourage your audience to make predictions about the story.

*Read with expression. Use your voice and facial expressions in order to elevate your audiences' experiences.

*Talk about illustrations -- they are the best part!

*Encourage your audience to participate! Encourage questions and predictions.

*Practice, practice, practice! In order to avoid tongue-tying and word stumbles, be sure to practice performing your book aloud at least three times. You will have the opportunity to practice with a partner during class if you wish.
